Symposium on intellectual extremism and its psychological effects

     The Educational and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa, in cooperation with the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, held a symposium entitled (Intellectual extremism, its psychological effects, and proposed ways of confrontation).
The symposium aimed at spreading the culture of moderation among the segments of society, defining the future effects of this phenomenon, and proposing ways to reduce intellectual extremism and strengthening ways to prevent dangers.
During which Prof. Dr. Nabaa Abdel Raouf Ammar dealt with (causes of intellectual extremism and remedies), while the teacher, Dr. Mohib Al-Araji, explained (the concept of intellectual extremism, its types and psychological interpretations).
The symposium concluded with a number of recommendations, including spreading the concepts of tolerance, coexistence and moderation, launching programs for psychological education, achieving social justice, and eliminating differences between the classes of society, in addition to restricting and monitoring what is broadcast by the media in all its forms, and paying attention to the quality of education because of its impact on building the intellectual perceptions of individuals.
