Scientific workshop

The Faculty of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa held a scientific workshop entitled (How to read the food label and the shelf life of canned food).
The workshop aimed to give information about the importance of reading the food label attached to canned foods and foodstuffs before purchasing and to know the importance of the preservative added to foodstuffs and whether foodstuffs can be consumed after the expiry of their validity period, by educating the community and exchanging information by holding scientific seminars and workshops in The scientific departments of the college and the corresponding colleges on campus.
The workshop included two lectures (Professor Dr. Sahar Mahmoud Jawad) and (Professor Dalal Abdel Hussein) in which they discussed the side effects resulting from the consumption of expired foodstuffs, as well as knowing whether it is possible to purchase foodstuffs that have expired in order to avoid food poisoning and disease. Diseases of the digestive system, such as diarrhea, vomiting and intestinal colic.
And it concluded by stating the importance of the expiry date and the safety of the food material and the consumer obtaining the highest possible quality and preventing the material from remaining in the warehouses for long periods while facilitating the task of food inspectors and allowing the consumer the opportunity to participate in the control processes.
