The Faculty of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa held a panel discussion entitled “Evaluation of the effect of WFS1 gene polymorphisms with type 2 diabetes in Iraqi Arab patients.”
For the student Abeer Jassim from the Department of Chemistry.

It aimed to show the importance of this disease and increase its spread.
It concluded that the rs10010131 A/G gene polymorphism of the WFS1 gene proved to be a risk factor for people with type 2 diabetes, and that the same gene could be considered as a protective factor for people with diabetes.
The researcher recommended the need for more participants to avoid deviation and that gene expression is needed to evaluate the effect of the studied polymorphisms of the gene.
